-snip-

It's a matter of perspective; a year ago Jonny told me 'it's dead', and I didn't believe him, hence why I was here for another year. I thought the same as you towards him, but that's besides the point.

My OP didn't describe the community, nor to what degree it is/was able to provide entertainment/enjoyment, it was solely about me. And before you raise a 'contradiction' flag at me, let me explain: I've had this idea of 'it's dying' long before I joined your server (right before MCForge pulled the plugged on their projects), but that didn't stop me from playing on MCClassic - It's partly my fault for using it's as an excuse in the OP, to which I have to apologize.

It's true I wasn't there on certain times when it's fun, or at least what you described as 'fun', but other times I was, such as the Rousmoselle incident (or h/e you spell it) - at least I think it's 'fun' from your perspective. It is true that you guys were able to enjoy those times, but I can't. Call me a drama king/queen all you wan't, but this is sometimes a problem IRL as well; I don't know how to put myself to join other's sometimes, and I ended up feeling like I was either sitting/walking alone despite being around 5 to 10 people. I'll say it once more, short and simple, it's about me.

I think 'life support' is the right phrase for the current situation CC is in. I doubt that anyone can save the game now. Or, at least, not this way - people keep developing more and more server softwares, developing clients, starting new servers while there's nobody and nothing to compete against. The community just keeps splitting into smaller and smaller groups, instead of uniting into larger groups which could make a change. There are more servers than active players and more server softwares than active servers. The community needs a big change.
Also, it's true that we all owe Minecraft Classic so much. I don't care about building as much as I used before, now it's mostly the people what makes me want to join the game. And since people are leaving, it's just getting worse.
Well, anyways, I wish you the best in your life and hope to see you again soon, comrade. Maybe you could check our late night IRC conversations sometime.

I will of course be on IRC some time or another when I'm bored, 'cause normally talking to IRL friends isn't as fun, haha. I completely agree with you on what people do; they're essentially trying to spend thousands for one or two (speaking metaphorically) right now. And now that you've said it, I felt like I'm part of the problem by quitting. If that ever happened to be the case, then I apologize.

Alright, I will try to make this as brief as possible, as reading a wall of text written by a guy who a) is an idiot, and b) is 'socially awkward', isn't always a fun thing to do. The passage below is what some may describe as a 'good bye message', others may call it a 'rant', but I'd leave that to the reader(s) as I couldn't decide myself what to describe it as.

Recently, as you may or may not know, the server has undergone a 'big change' where everything was reverted to it's defaults (e.g. new servers, re-applying of the staff members, and etc.). Initially, it didn't have much of an impact, if at all, on me personally, but for no particular reason I held myself back from my re-applying attempt. I later realized that it's a good thing to do, as climbing a latter once more adds another layer of 'challenge' (and a purpose) to the game, or so I thought. I've just recently realized that it was a horrible idea, as I did not enjoy my first step on the latter (i.e getting Member) at all - I found it boring and laborious. Adding the fact that CC's on 'life support' makes the matter even worse for me.

With all that, I don't know whether if I should continue - not just on this server, but on CC in general. Personally, I feel like this is such a waste; I owe MCClassic a portion of my knowledge, I owe MCClassic my meetings of great people, and some other things. I would like to extend my involvement in it, but seeing that I can't get any enjoyment out of it, I'd doubt I could.
